Get Back the Room You Stopped Using
Swap your old glass or polycarbonate roof for the fully insulated Eurocell Equinox warm roof — fitted to the conservatory you already have. Watertight in a day, U-values as low as 0.15, a plastered ceiling inside, and all the Building Control paperwork handled by us.
The Room You Only Use Six Weeks a Year
Nearly every conservatory survey we attend starts with the same sentence: "it's too hot in summer, too cold in winter, and we can't hear ourselves think when it rains." Here's the good news — the conservatory itself is rarely the problem. The frames are usually sound, the base is usually fine, and the doors still work. It's the roof. A thin sheet of polycarbonate or old glass overhead does almost nothing to hold heat in during a Suffolk January, and even less to keep it out in July.
A warm roof fixes it properly. We fit the Eurocell Equinox system: a lightweight, fully engineered solid roof where the insulation sits directly beneath the tiles, achieving U-values as low as 0.15 W/m²K — around ten times better than the polycarbonate it replaces. Inside, you get a plastered and skimmed ceiling with downlights, or a tongue-and-groove finish if you prefer. Outside, a proper tiled roof that looks like it was always meant to be there. It goes onto your existing conservatory — same frames, same base, same footprint — and it's usually watertight within a day.
You choose your tile from 16 finishes across the steel tile, Envirotile, composite slate and Slateskin ranges, whether you'd like roof windows or glazed panels to keep the daylight (compared below), and your internal finish. Every roof is fitted by our own team from our Martlesham base, in Kesgrave, Ipswich, Woodbridge, Felixstowe and throughout Suffolk and Essex.
Building a conservatory from scratch? This page is for upgrading a conservatory you already own. If you're starting fresh, our Warm Roof Conservatories are designed around the solid roof from day one — and if you'd rather keep a glazed roof, take a look at our Victorian, Gable and Lean-To ranges.
Every project starts with a free, no-obligation survey and quotation, and is protected by our 10-year guarantee.
Choose Your Daylight
The big decision on a replacement roof isn't the tile — it's how much sky you keep. Both options below use the same insulated Equinox structure and the same tile ranges; the difference is light and budget. Our surveyor will price both so you can compare properly.
Equinox Warm Roof with Roof Windows
The full insulated roof, with one or more roof windows or fully glazed panels set into it. You keep a piece of sky and controlled, glare-free daylight while losing the greenhouse effect entirely. For most rooms — especially north-facing ones — this is the specification that gets it right.
| Insulation | U-values as low as 0.15 W/m²K |
|---|---|
| Daylight | Roof windows & fully glazed panel options |
| Structure | Lightweight aluminium frame, 18mm OSB deck |
| Tiles | 16 finishes: steel, Envirotile, composite slate, Slateskin |
| Inside | Plastered & skimmed ceiling or tongue-and-groove |
| Condensation | Ventilated air gap designed into the build-up |
Fully Tiled Equinox Warm Roof
The same system, tiled right across with no roof windows. It's the warmest, quietest and cheapest way to do the job, and with LED downlights in the plastered ceiling it feels like any other room in the house. Ideal where you have good glazing in the walls and doors already.
| Insulation | U-values as low as 0.15 W/m²K |
|---|---|
| Daylight | From existing windows & doors; LED downlights inside |
| Structure | Lightweight aluminium frame, 18mm OSB deck |
| Tiles | 16 finishes: steel, Envirotile, composite slate, Slateskin |
| Inside | Plastered & skimmed ceiling or tongue-and-groove |
| Budget | The most cost-effective route to a warm roof |
The Bit Other Companies Don't Mention
Right now your conservatory is exempt from Building Regulations, because its roof is translucent. Put a solid insulated roof on it and that exemption ends — the work becomes notifiable, and Building Control approval is required. That isn't a technicality to be dodged. It's how you prove the roof is safe and legal, and it's the certificate your solicitor will ask for the day you sell.
- We survey the structure first. Frames, eaves beam, dwarf walls and foundations — checked for movement before we quote, not after we've taken a deposit.
- We make the application. Plans, structural calculations and thermal performance, submitted and managed on your behalf.
- We meet the inspector. Our fitters have done this hundreds of times across Suffolk. You don't need to take a day off work.
- You get the completion certificate. Handed to you at the end, included in the price — never bolted on as an extra.
A word of caution: if a quote you've been given is dramatically cheaper than ours, this is usually what's missing — or it's a "clad-over" roof that goes on top of your old one. Those add weight without addressing the structure, rarely pass Building Control, and are a well-known source of condensation and creaking. We won't fit one.

Customisation & Upgrades
- Roof Windows & Glazed Panels: Keep your daylight — the most popular upgrade by a distance, and the one that stops a solid roof feeling closed-in.
- Tiles, Fascias & Guttering: 16 tile finishes across steel, Envirotile, composite slate and Slateskin, plus eight fascia colours and five guttering colours to match the house.
- Lighting & Ceiling Finish: LED downlights in a plastered and skimmed ceiling, or a tongue-and-groove finish for a softer, garden-room feel.
- Structural Strengthening: Occasionally an older frame or eaves beam needs reinforcing first. If yours does, we'll show you why and price it openly before you commit.

What Our Warm Roof Customers Say
Reviews related to our replacement conservatory roofs
We'd not used the conservatory properly in about eight years. Roof off Tuesday, new one on Wednesday, plastered by Friday. It's now the room the grandchildren fight over.
Two other firms never once mentioned building control. Homestyle explained it at the survey, did all the paperwork and handed me the certificate. That alone made the decision easy.
I was worried it'd end up like a shed inside. They talked me into two roof windows and they were absolutely right — it's bright, warm and you can actually hold a conversation when it's raining.
Honest from the start — they checked the base and frames before quoting and explained exactly what they were looking at. First winter done and there's not a hint of condensation.
